Job Overview:
The position involves providing technical support to microbusinesses and entrepreneurship initiatives in the Teusaquillo locality as part of the Teusaquillo Impulsa su Economía Local program. The consultant will utilize methodologies defined by UNDP to promote productive inclusion, economic sustainability, and the development of entrepreneurial capacities that contribute to territorial development. The role is crucial in ensuring that local businesses receive the necessary guidance and resources to thrive, thereby enhancing the economic landscape of the community. The consultant will work closely with local stakeholders to identify needs, develop strategies, and implement solutions that align with the program's objectives. This position is expected to last for a period of 75 calendar days or approximately 2.5 months, during which the consultant will engage with various community members and organizations to foster a supportive environment for entrepreneurship.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to microbusinesses and entrepreneurs in Teusaquillo, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and support.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities within the community's economic landscape.
  • Develop and implement training programs aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial skills and knowledge among local business owners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of supported businesses, providing ongoing feedback and adjustments to strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to promote networking and collaboration among local entrepreneurs.
  • Prepare reports and documentation detailing the progress and outcomes of the consultancy, including recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Ensure that all activities align with UNDP's methodologies and objectives for sustainable development and economic inclusion.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in providing technical assistance to microbusinesses and entrepreneurship initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of local economic development and community engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of local entrepreneurs.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's methodologies and approaches to sustainable development is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage. Additional certifications in entrepreneurship development or community economic development would also be beneficial.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in providing consultancy services to microbusinesses or similar initiatives is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs, particularly in the context of economic development, is preferred. The candidate should have a proven track record of successful project implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires direct interaction with local businesses and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with UNDP and other international partners.

This consultancy position is for a fixed term of 75 days, with a focus on full-time engagement during this period. The consultant will be expected to work independently while also collaborating with local teams and stakeholders.
