Job Overview:
The Individual Contractor (IC) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the ASEAN–Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) digital economy initiative. This position involves a variety of functions aimed at facilitating policy dialogue, coordinating events, engaging stakeholders, conducting research, and managing projects. The IC will work under the guidance of the Head of SROSEA, contributing to the development of background materials, logistical support for workshops and consultations, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to support the successful execution of the digital economy initiative, which is vital for enhancing economic cooperation between ASEAN and EAEU member states.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include:
  • Policy Dialogue Support: Prepare background materials, talking points, and documentation to facilitate discussions related to the digital economy initiative.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in the logistical and administrative organization of workshops, roundtables, and virtual consultations, ensuring smooth execution of events.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate in virtual consultations with ESCAP and relevant stakeholders, providing written inputs, feedback, and follow-up documentation as required.
  • Research Support: Contribute to the development of the ASEAN–EAEU digital economy study, including data collection, identifying relevant sources, and assisting with annexes.
  • Final Report Contributions: Help compile data and review the final study, ensuring coherence, accuracy, and relevance of content across all sections.
  • Project Management: Support the monitoring and evaluation of project activities, track progress, ensure timely delivery of outputs, and maintain alignment with work plans.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include an advanced university degree in international economics, development, or related fields. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in economic research, international development, or regional cooperation. Experience in conducting policy research and preparing analytical reports is essential. Additionally, candidates should have a proven track record in organizing and coordinating events, including workshops and consultations, as well as project management skills, particularly in monitoring and evaluating development projects. Familiarity with ASEAN and/or EAEU regional frameworks and economic integration processes is highly desirable. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or regional bodies will be considered an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with experience in stakeholder engagement and consultation processes.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in international economics, development, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of economic policies and regional cooperation initiatives, particularly in the context of the ASEAN and EAEU frameworks.

Experience:
