Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Assisting in the compilation of donor and internal reports in collaboration with the Grants Coordinator and Manager, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all required documentation.
  • Working closely with the Grants Manager/Coordinator to develop concept notes and donor proposals, participating actively in the writing process alongside relevant departments.
  • Supporting the creation of generic concept notes, briefing notes, and Situation Reports (SITREPS) for donor meetings and visits.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of grants-related training programs, focusing on proposal and report writing.
  • Maintaining an organized and accessible filing system for all grant-specific files, ensuring that past and active grants are well-documented.
  • Supporting the Grants Intern in maintaining the Grants Tracker/Filing Tree, ensuring that all information is current and accurate.
  • Preparing all necessary documentation for audits, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and NRC policies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Grants Officer position must possess a relevant university degree or higher education, preferably in fields such as international relations, development studies, social sciences, or project management. Additionally, candidates should have between 1-2 years of relevant experience in the field of grants management, particularly within the humanitarian sector. A strong understanding of donor rules and regulations is essential, along with skills in report and proposal writing. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication abilities in English.
