Job Overview: The Technical Rehabilitation Expert will play a crucial role in defining and promoting frameworks and standards for technical know-how in rehabilitation. This position involves contributing to the improvement of technical expertise through the development of lessons learned, research, and innovation projects. The expert will be responsible for deploying framework documentation that contains Humanity & Inclusion's norms and standards, ensuring effective dissemination through appropriate management of the Toolbox or Hinside content development. Additionally, the role includes providing program support based on identified needs, conducting quality control missions, and ensuring sectoral monitoring of international norms and standards. The expert will also support the emergence of innovative ideas within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise: Contribute to defining and promoting frameworks and standards for technical know-how in rehabilitation. Deploy framework documentation containing HI norms and standards and ensure dissemination through appropriate management of the Toolbox. Provide program support based on identified needs, including quality control missions and support. Ensure sectoral monitoring of international norms and standards based on expertise. Support the emergence of innovative ideas.
Business Development: Support and represent HI's technical expertise in relevant networks. Contribute to communication messages and scientific publications. Identify and develop partnerships with NGOs, institutions, and companies. Contribute to the development of major opportunities or new projects related to rehabilitation intervention. Analyze the context in the sectoral scope and contribute to the value proposition. Support the design and drafting of new projects. Contribute to advocacy on specific issues.
Professional Development: Facilitate a talent pool and community of practice. Identify training needs and propose action plans for training. Support the definition of capacity development strategies and provide training to program teams. Co-organize technical seminars in the field of expertise within the Global Framework Agreement with the Luxembourg MoFA.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in the rehabilitation sector, with demonstrated clinical experience in both high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). At least 3 years of relevant experience in the development sector is required. The candidate should possess knowledge of conceptual and strategic frameworks in rehabilitation and assistive technology. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, suitable for high-level external representation, with the ability to adapt messages to different audiences. The ability to develop institutional relationships with various stakeholders, including donors, networks, ministries, and local authorities, is also necessary.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in rehabilitation, assistive technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in rehabilitation sciences, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or similar disciplines are preferred. Continuous professional development and training in relevant areas will be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in the rehabilitation sector, with a strong emphasis on clinical experience in both high-income and low- and middle-income countries. Experience in the development sector for at least 3 years is also required, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex environments and contribute effectively to rehabilitation initiatives.
Languages: Fluency in English and French is compulsory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in relation to the regions where Humanity & Inclusion operates.
Additional Notes: The position offers an open-ended contract (CDI) with full-time employment of 40 hours per week. Employees will receive 18 meal vouchers per month, each worth €8.4
