Job Overview: The National Consultant for Project Development Expert (National Team Coordinator) position is designed to lead and coordinate project development efforts within the UNDP framework in Pakistan. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant for Project Development Expert include but are not limited to:
Leading the project development process, including the formulation of project proposals, work plans, and budgets.
Coordinating with various stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure that project designs are comprehensive and inclusive.
Conducting needs assessments and feasibility studies to inform project planning and implementation.
Monitoring project progress and performance, providing regular updates to UNDP management and stakeholders.
Facilitating workshops and meetings to engage stakeholders and gather feedback on project initiatives.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Preparing reports and documentation related to project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.
Identifying risks and challenges associated with project implementation and proposing mitigation strategies.
Supporting capacity-building initiatives for local partners and stakeholders involved in project implementation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications to be considered for this position. This includes a proven track record in project management, particularly within the context of international development. Familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures and guidelines is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders and presenting project information effectively. Candidates should also exhibit a commitment to the principles of sustainable development and social equity.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as international development, public administration, project management, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) will be given preference. A strong academic background that includes coursework in areas relevant to the duties of the position will be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in project development and management, particularly in the context of international development projects. Experience working with UN agencies or other international organizations is highly desirable. Proven experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects and managing teams will be considered a significant asset. Familiarity with the socio-economic and political context of Pakistan will also be beneficial for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all project documentation and communication will be conducted in English. Proficiency in Urdu or other local languages is considered an asset, as it will facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and communities.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is 50 working days, spread over a period of eight months. The consultant will be expected to deliver outputs within the specified timeframe, with an estimated review period of 10 working days for UNDP to provide feedback and certify acceptance of outputs. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and candidates should be prepared to submit their proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal. The deadline for submitting bids is set for February 2, 2026, at 5:00 AM New York time.
