Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of a project aimed at strengthening legal frameworks and promoting inclusive business practices in Palestine. This position requires close collaboration with the Project Manager and involves a variety of tasks including project coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and reporting, communication and outreach, administrative support, financial and resource management, and risk management. The Project Coordinator will ensure that project activities are executed efficiently and effectively, adhering to UNDP quality standards and timelines. The role is vital in fostering collaboration among stakeholders, including government entities, civil society organizations, and businesses, to enhance accountability and promote human rights protections in business practices. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for documenting lessons learned and success stories, contributing to the overall impact of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Support: Develop and maintain detailed project work plans and activity schedules; coordinate day-to-day operational activities, including organizing training workshops, meetings, and consultations; ensure timely logistical support for events; execute project activities as per the approved plan.
Stakeholder Engagement: Support engagement with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Justice and civil society organizations; coordinate with project partners regarding implementation; organize meetings with project partners and capture action items.
Monitoring and Reporting: Track implementation of project activities; collect and compile project data for progress reports; document lessons learned and success stories.
Communication and Outreach: Coordinate public awareness campaigns and media engagement; assist in developing communication materials.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Project Manager; maintain project records; support financial management.
Financial and Resource Management: Monitor project expenditures; coordinate procurement and management of project resources.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit periodic progress reports; maintain organized records of project activities.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies in consultation with the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. A solid understanding of project management principles and experience in stakeholder engagement are essential. The candidate should demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and professionalism in their approach to work. Familiarity with human rights issues and business practices in the Palestinian context will be an advantage. The candidate should also exhibit strong judgment and decision-making capabilities, along with effective planning and organizing skills.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, law, international relations, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an asset. The educational background should reflect a strong understanding of development issues, human rights, and legal frameworks, particularly in the context of Palestine.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, management, or implementation is required. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects in Palestine or similar environments, is highly desirable. The candidate should have a track record of successfully managing project activities and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with various stakeholders and communities.
Additional Notes: This position is a national UN Volunteer assignment, requiring the volunteer to arrange their own housing and living essentials. The contract is for 12 months, with the possibility of extensions based on funding availability and performance. A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of ILS 6450 is provided monthly to cover living expenses, and the position includes life, health, and permanent disability insurance, as well as health insurance for up to three dependents. An exit allowance is also provided for satisfactory service.
