Job Overview: The Communications Specialist position is a critical role within the Content Production Division of the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management at ADB. The primary function of this role is to support the curation and governance of digital content across ADB-managed websites, ensuring that the content is high-quality, audience-centric, and accurately reflects ADB's operations and communications priorities. The specialist will be responsible for overseeing content updates, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and conducting quality checks to enhance the online experience for users. This role also involves contributing to the design and execution of new web pages, managing existing content, and ensuring that all multimedia content is optimized for various platforms. The Communications Specialist will play a significant role in managing the ADB Blog and Development Asia, focusing on content production and layout planning, and will be expected to provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members, fostering their professional development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Communications Specialist include:
Supporting the web content strategy and ensuring that DOCK-led web platforms present accessible, accurate, and engaging content.
Contributing to the design, development, and execution of new web pages and managing existing content on DOCK-led platforms.
Engaging in visual storytelling and multimedia design initiatives, ensuring all content is optimized for web use.
Collaborating with content producers, multimedia specialists, and developers to integrate multimedia assets into web pages.
Managing the ADB Blog and Development Asia, focusing on content production and layout planning.
Creating and managing corporate content calendars, ensuring adherence to editorial standards.
Assessing and validating complex web content requests, providing editorial support as needed.
Coaching and mentoring team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Performing other related tasks as assigned by the Director of DCCD.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the Communications Specialist position, candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent in Digital Media, Communications, Information Technology, or related fields, preferably at the post-graduate level. Additionally, candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including experience at an international level, with a demonstrated understanding of development issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
