Job Overview:
The HR Coordinator (HRBP) position is integral to the Global Mobility area of the Human Resources department at CIMMYT. This role requires an outstanding, self-motivated, and result-oriented professional who will support Global Mobility and Internationally Recruited Staff (IRS) by providing strategic HR advisory services and comprehensive HR operational support. The HR Coordinator will be expected to partner with leaders and manage complex employee relations in a global context, acting as a trusted advisor to both leaders and staff. The position emphasizes the importance of ensuring an excellent employee experience while aligning with organizational goals in a diverse, international environment. The role is based at CIMMYT’s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City, which provides a vibrant setting for engaging with a global workforce.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Coordinator (HRBP) will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: acting as a trusted HR Business Partner to program leaders, aligning staffing strategies with organizational goals, and promoting internal and global mobility solutions. The coordinator will provide strategic advice on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational design to ensure optimal deployment of internationally recruited staff. They will analyze trends and HR metrics related to IRS to support data-driven decisions and continuous improvement, drive change management initiatives to support organizational transformation, and mentor managers on HR systems and performance management. The role also involves fostering strong relationships with international staff, monitoring performance improvement plans, and offering expert guidance on HR policies tailored to international contexts. Additionally, the coordinator will manage end-to-end HR administrative services for IRS, including drafting employment contracts, leading onboarding efforts, coordinating relocation logistics, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and international labor regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, International HR, Business Administration, International Relations, Law, or a related field. Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar strategic HR role is essential. A deep understanding of onboarding best practices and international HR operations is required, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are crucial, as is the ability to interpret HR metrics and provide actionable insights. Experience in change management and organizational development is also necessary, along with an advanced level of English (both written and conversational), with a minimum score of C1 on the CEFR being required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Human Resources, International HR, Business Administration, International Relations, Law, or a related area. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of HR operations in an international context and for effectively supporting the diverse needs of the organization.

Experience:
The position requires proven experience in a strategic HR role, specifically as an HR Business Partner or in a similar capacity. Candidates should have a strong background in international HR operations, onboarding best practices, and change management. This experience is vital for effectively navigating the challenges of managing a global workforce and for providing strategic HR advisory services.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, which must be at an advanced level (C1 on the CEFR). This proficiency will be tested during the selection process. While English is essential, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in enhancing communication within a diverse international team.
