Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the WASH Project Assistant include: assisting in the implementation of WASH projects according to the agreed response strategy; liaising closely with the National Project Officer and other project assistants; participating in assessments of water and sanitation needs; monitoring and verifying that WASH projects are implemented in accordance with established standards; assisting in the preparation of technical site layouts and bills of quantities; providing technical inputs to logistics and procurement; supporting site planning and topographical surveys; assessing emergency needs; submitting timely reports; collaborating with other WASH Cluster partners; maintaining effective communication with local government and stakeholders; suggesting areas for improvement; and performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school degree or equivalent with at least five years of relevant working experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Supply/Wastewater Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar from an accredited institution with at least three years of relevant work experience. Experience in the humanitarian field is mandatory, with a focus on WASH in emergencies being an asset. Additionally, experience with heating systems and design-related software such as AutoCAD is required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering fields.
