Job Overview:
In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the foundation's Financial Planning and Analysis capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to support cross-foundation visibility, analysis, and decision-making regarding operating expenses. You will assist leadership in understanding the financial implications of strategic and operational decisions through modeling, scenario analysis, and synthesizing complex information into actionable insights. Your work will involve leading discovery and diagnostic assessments of current financial processes, systems, and frameworks to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, resource optimization, and better alignment between Finance and Operations. This position is crucial for advancing the foundation's growth and vision by promoting financial stewardship and transparency, enabling informed strategic decisions regarding resource deployment. You will leverage strong analytical skills, collaborate across functions, and adopt a solutions-oriented approach to contribute to the foundation's overarching goals of operational excellence and impactful outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct strategic financial analysis to provide insights into operating expenses and resource allocation for foundation leadership.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear insights and options that inform strategic and operational decisions across the organization.
  • Develop and evaluate financial scenarios and options to assist leadership in making trade-off and prioritization decisions.
  • Lead discovery and diagnostic work on existing financial planning processes, systems, and frameworks to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Streamline workflows and enhance alignment between Finance and Operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance Centers of Excellence, Operations, and the COO’s office to ensure cohesive financial planning and transparency.
  • Strengthen the foundation’s Financial Planning and Analysis capabilities by enhancing visibility, accountability, and analytical depth.
  • Promote a culture of strategic financial management that balances stewardship with impact.
  • Model inclusive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented behaviors while leading through influence to align diverse partners around shared goals and continuous improvement in financial practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a strong financial and analytical background, with demonstrated experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning to inform strategic and operational decisions. The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to analyze complex data and organizational systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable recommendations that enhance efficiency and transparency. Proficiency in Excel, Business Intelligence (BI), and other analytical tools is essential, along with the capability to synthesize large amounts of data into concise, actionable insights for diverse audiences. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to influence without authority, build trust, and achieve alignment among diverse partner groups. Strong communication skills are required to effectively translate complex financial concepts into clear narratives for both financial and non-financial audiences.

Educational Background:

This is an 11-month Limited Term Employment position based in Seattle, and relocation support will not be provided.
