Job Overview: In the role of Interim Senior Officer for DAC Review Business Operations, you will be responsible for managing and implementing the DAC's Review Services aimed at enhancing the informativeness of global health research funded by the Gates Foundation. Reporting to the DAC director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director, you will work within the Seattle office and play a crucial role in liaising with Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) to ensure that DAC's services effectively contribute to the foundation's mission. Your responsibilities will include overseeing a growing portfolio of external consultants, managing the annual budget, and ensuring timely delivery of contract and grant obligations. You will also be involved in strategic partnership development, business development leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to advance DAC's objectives and improve the impact of global health research.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) and other partners to identify opportunities for DAC's Review Services to enhance programmatic impact.
Lead business development initiatives by engaging with PSTs through targeted meetings and strategic communications.
Serve as a liaison between DAC and other foundation divisions, fostering partnerships to advance DAC's mission.
Oversee DAC's investment portfolio, ensuring timely delivery of contract and grant obligations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and quality of reviews.
Collaborate in the development and management of DAC's annual budget and staffing strategies.
Provide analytical support to the DAC Deputy Director and Unit Leaders to inform decision-making processes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or higher in business administration, public health, life sciences, or a related field. Additionally, over 7 years of experience in business operations, program/project management, or execution planning is required. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience at the Gates Foundation or its affiliates, as well as those with a background in service-focused startups or mid-sized companies. Proven operational expertise in budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation is essential, along with exceptional interpersonal skills for relationship management across diverse cultures and professional levels.
