Job Overview: The Integration Project Officer will play a crucial role in the Helios+ project, which aims to facilitate the integration of third-country nationals into the Greek labor market and society. This position requires close collaboration with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to implement comprehensive actions that support beneficiaries of international protection. The officer will be responsible for providing essential information and support to eligible beneficiaries, monitoring their integration progress, and conducting various activities that promote social cohesion and inclusion. The role demands a proactive approach to assist beneficiaries in navigating their new environment, ensuring they have access to necessary resources such as housing, healthcare, and education services. The successful candidate will also be involved in organizing psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support sessions and coordinating with various stakeholders to meet the needs of the beneficiaries effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Integration Project Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Providing information to eligible beneficiaries and facilitating their enrollment in the project.
Monitoring the integration progress of beneficiaries through individual sessions and follow-ups.
Conducting presentations to familiarize beneficiaries with the European Way of Life.
Organizing psychosocial support sessions to aid beneficiaries in their adjustment process.
Informing beneficiaries about their social welfare rights, housing options, healthcare access, and educational services.
Referring beneficiaries to other actors for specialized support when necessary.
Coordinating with other project units, relevant authorities, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for beneficiaries.
Evaluating requests for exemptions from mandatory Greek language courses.
Ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining quality physical archiving of Means of Verification. 1
Regularly visiting designated Reception Facilities to present the project and enroll eligible beneficiaries. 1
Assisting beneficiaries in their search for apartments and navigating administrative requirements. 1
Performing any other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have a Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields. Additionally, a professional license is required for Social Workers and Psychologists. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the challenges faced by migrants and possess the skills necessary to provide effective support in a multicultural environment. Computer literacy in standard software applications is essential, along with a strong commitment to humanitarian principles and ethics.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution. Accredited institutions are those recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. A Master’s degree in these fields is considered an advantage, as it indicates a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in social integration and support services.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of previous work experience in a relevant field. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred, as it equips candidates with the necessary skills to navigate diverse cultural contexts and effectively support beneficiaries from various backgrounds. For Social Workers and Psychologists, holding a professional license is mandatory, ensuring that the candidate meets the professional standards required for practice in their respective fields.
Languages: Fluency in English and Greek, both written and oral, is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly IOM's official languages such as French and Spanish, is considered a valuable asset, as it can enhance communication with a broader range of beneficiaries and stakeholders.
