Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Emergency team at Humanité & Inclusion focuses on supporting the analysis of humanitarian crises, particularly in regions such as Sudan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, South Sudan, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Venezuela. Interns will engage in daily press reviews, thematic publications, and presentations of essential information to team members. In the event of sudden changes in context, interns will participate in internal alert processes and follow-up on responses, including crisis analysis and humanitarian impact assessments. The role also involves data collection and synthesis related to humanitarian contexts, contributing to the improvement of humanitarian alert processes, and supporting the overall functioning of the Emergency pole through communication support and administrative tasks. This internship is designed for motivated students eager to contribute to meaningful humanitarian efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the analysis of humanitarian crises by conducting context analyses on various regions, developing daily press reviews, writing thematic publications, and presenting essential information to team members.
  • Participate in internal alert processes and follow-up on responses in case of sudden context changes, including crisis analysis, humanitarian impact assessments, and sharing synthesized publications on the crisis context and ongoing responses.
  • Contribute to the collection and synthesis of humanitarian data, including data categorization and integration into databases, supporting analysis through infographics and mapping, and improving humanitarian alert processes.
  • Provide support for the overall functioning of the Emergency pole, including developing internal communication materials, translating documents, taking notes during meetings and workshops, and assisting with various administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a background in political science, international relations, international solidarity, humanitarian action, or disaster risk management. Strong writing skills and the ability to synthesize information are essential. Candidates should be familiar with current geopolitical issues and possess good organizational skills, prioritization abilities, and a proactive mindset. Autonomy and critical thinking are also important traits for this role.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, specifically in fields such as political science, international relations, international solidarity, humanitarian action, or disaster risk management. The internship must be conducted under a signed internship agreement with a French educational institution.

Experience:
While specific prior experience may not be required, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of humanitarian issues and possess analytical skills. Experience in data analysis and representation is beneficial, as well as familiarity with geopolitical contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Knowledge of Spanish is required for candidates focusing on the Latin America region. Strong communication skills in these languages are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.

  • A monthly stipend of €669.90 will be provided, along with meal vouchers valued at €8.96 (60% covered by the employer, 40% by the intern) and a 50% contribution to transportation costs.
