Job Overview:
The OSL OPS Assistant position is integral to the WHO Health Emergencies Incident Management System (IMS), specifically at the field event level. The role involves supporting logistics and operations units, assisting OSL Officers and emergency teams in establishing and managing WHO and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) premises. The incumbent will ensure the timely supply of medical and non-medical commodities, providing essential health logistics support to maintain WHO health activities in accordance with Sphere standards. The OSL OPS Assistant will also be responsible for fleet management, ensuring smooth logistics operations, and will be deployed to emergency operations as needed. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The OSL OPS Assistant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: preparing the staff transport master plan based on requests and Incident Management approval; reviewing transport requests from booking applications; liaising with the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Unit for movement clearance; determining route plans and communication strategies; preparing backup transport plans; drafting convoy and transport procedures; supporting weekly staff movement planning; maintaining a roster of drivers; managing vehicle dispatch according to daily priorities; validating rental vehicle supplier invoices; ensuring Fleet KPIs are met; setting up the MOVCON room for vehicle tracking; identifying taxi agencies and supporting bid calls; and performing other related duties as assigned. The role requires effective communication and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate strong teamwork skills, respect for individual and cultural differences, and effective communication abilities. They should possess sound organizational skills and a wide range of office skills, including proficiency in office software and the ability to multitask and work independently under pressure. Knowledge of vehicle pooling systems is essential, along with the ability to manage resources effectively. The role demands a proactive attitude and the capacity to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Background:
The essential educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education or its equivalent. A higher education degree from an accredited institution is desirable and considered an asset, as it may enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in administration and/or logistics. Experience working with WHO or another UN agency, as well as in non-governmental organizations during humanitarian responses, is highly desirable and will be considered an asset in the selection process.

Languages:
Expert knowledge of English and Ukrainian is essential for this position. Knowledge of any other official UN language is considered desirable and may provide an advantage in the recruitment process.

Additional Notes:
The remuneration for this position starts at an annual base salary of USD 19,696, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
