The Statistical Assistant will work under the guidance of the head of the unit, ensuring that statistical data is accurate, clear, and valid, and will contribute to the drafting of reports that inform policy decisions and strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Statistical Assistant will have a range of responsibilities, including: assisting in data collection, compilation, and dissemination; generating tables and graphs for visual representation of data; participating in the review and compilation of background materials; evaluating and examining data sets for accuracy and validity; compiling basic statistical series for comparative analysis; updating statistical series for data portal uploads; drafting statistical reports; liaising with national statistical offices and UN organizations to gather necessary information; preparing data sets upon request; and responding to queries related to statistical data. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall objectives of the unit.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, finance, or a related field.
