Its mission is to provide impartial and neutral services to address work-related concerns of UN employees. The organization operates globally, serving personnel from various UN offices and agencies, and aims to foster a fair and just workplace environment. UNOMS is committed to confidentiality and the informal resolution of disputes, ensuring that employees have access to support without fear of repercussions.

Job Overview:
The Consultant for Conflict Resolution is tasked with delivering a comprehensive range of informal dispute resolution services to UN personnel. This role involves engaging with employees both in-person and virtually, ensuring that all interactions are handled confidentially. The consultant is expected to facilitate mediation processes, helping parties involved in workplace conflicts to reach voluntary agreements through discussion and negotiation. This position requires a strong commitment to neutrality and confidentiality, as well as the ability to develop relationships with visitors and guide them towards available services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant for Conflict Resolution will perform a variety of duties including: providing alternative dispute resolution services to UN employees, conducting mediation sessions to help resolve workplace conflicts, maintaining neutrality and confidentiality throughout the process, gathering relevant information to understand the issues at hand, exploring options for resolution, and generating solutions collaboratively with the parties involved. The consultant will also offer expert advice on dispute resolution techniques tailored to the needs of the visitors, develop relationships with them, and assist in follow-up communications to ensure satisfaction with the resolution process. Additionally, the consultant may be required to advise visitors on further services available from UNOMS.

Fluency in both written and oral English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, as these are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
