Job Overview: The Data Analytics and Strategic Insights Analyst position is designed to support the UNDP's efforts in enhancing agricultural resilience in India, particularly through the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) schemes. The role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of project objectives, maintaining and strengthening the National Database for PMFBY and RWBCIS, and ensuring accurate data capture on the National Crop Insurance Portal. The analyst will be responsible for assessing and improving data quality, developing analytical platforms for stakeholders, and building analytical capacity within implementing agencies. The position also requires the design and implementation of proof of concept initiatives for strategic projects, tracking project delivery issues, and providing timely inputs for reporting requirements. The analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that the agricultural sector's challenges are addressed through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations, ultimately contributing to sustainable development goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Data Analytics and Strategic Insights Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Maintaining and strengthening the National Database for PMFBY and RWBCIS, ensuring accurate data capture on the National Crop Insurance Portal.
Overseeing data validation and integration of datasets from various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with scheme guidelines.
Conducting detailed data quality assessments and proposing actionable solutions to improve data governance and reporting processes.
Designing and operationalizing analytical dashboards and platforms for stakeholders to facilitate advanced analyses and decision-making.
Supporting State Technical Support Units in developing in-house analytical capabilities and providing training on analytics tools and data governance.
Conceptualizing and testing innovative solutions aligned with program objectives, including digital data capture and automation.
Tracking implementation risks and coordinating project resources to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Contributing to high-quality progress reports and technical documents for UNDP and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Performing additional duties related to analytics, strategy, and stakeholder engagement as assigned by the National ProgrammeDirector.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas combined with two additional years of qualifying experience will be considered. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required for those with a master's degree, or four years for those with a bachelor's degree, specifically in crop insurance and working with government sectors. Candidates should have a strong understanding of India's crop-insurance regulatory framework and the ability to analyze large datasets for strategic planning and reporting. Comprehensive expertise in agriculture insurance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement is essential, along with desired skills in data analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and advanced Excel.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or Business Administration. Candidates with a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, combined with additional qualifying experience, will also be considered.
