Job Overview: The primary aim of this consultancy is to provide technical and coordination support for the operationalization of the National Menstrual Hygiene Health (MHH) Coordination Taskforce in Jordan. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to ensure that the Taskforce is operational, functional, and well-structured. This role involves supporting the governance and functionality of the Taskforce, facilitating regular meetings, and developing operational tools and processes for effective coordination and decision-making. The consultant will also assist in identifying priority actions in the MHH Roadmap and provide technical inputs for policy integration and capacity-building initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize and facilitate two quarterly coordination meetings of the MHH Taskforce, including agenda preparation, materials, and minutes of meetings.
Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the National MHH Taskforce meetings and decision-making.
Support the mapping of MHH-specific activities across partners and their alignment with the MHH roadmap.
Prepare a one-year detailed MHH workplan.
Identify specific needs and prepare advocacy briefs for the integration of MHH into Education and Health Strategic/Sector Plans.
Identify areas for capacity-building on MHH among Education and Health staff.
Document lessons learned and recommendations for sustainability in the operationalization of the MHH Taskforce.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Public Health, Education, Gender Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in coordination, policy development, and program implementation in health/education sectors.
Sound technical expertise in menstrual health and hygiene, adolescent health, and reproductive health.
Proven expertise in gender and MHH programming and advocacy.
Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working on system strengthening and national coordination on gender in Jordan.
Familiarity with Jordan’s education and health systems, including policies and procedures within the Ministry of Education and/or Ministry of Health.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Public Health, Education, Gender Studies, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of menstrual health and hygiene, as well as the broader context of health and education in Jordan.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in coordination, policy development, and program implementation within the health and education sectors. Candidates should have a strong background in menstrual health and hygiene, as well as experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations in Jordan.
Languages: Fluency in both Arabic and English is required for this position. This bilingual requirement is crucial for effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders involved in the MHH Taskforce.
