Job Overview: The National Consultant for Private Sector Mapping will play a crucial role in conducting a comprehensive analysis of the private sector in Georgia, particularly focusing on the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). This position involves identifying companies that are signatories to the WEPs, assessing their willingness to engage in partnerships with women's rights organizations, and mapping businesses across various regions of Georgia. The consultant will engage with stakeholders to gather insights on their perspectives regarding gender equality and women's empowerment, and will identify opportunities for resource mobilization to support women's initiatives. The consultant will also analyze barriers to engagement and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen partnerships between the private sector and civil society organizations, ultimately enhancing women's leadership and participation in decision-making processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for several key tasks: 1) Identification of WEPs Signatories: Conduct a detailed analysis of over 300 companies in Georgia that are signatories of the WEPs, narrowing down the sample based on their willingness to engage in the study. 2) Regional Business Mapping: Investigate businesses across different regions, focusing on Imereti, Racha, Kvemo Kartli, and Shida Kartli, mapping sectors and existing initiatives related to gender equality. 3) Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with company representatives to understand their perspectives on gender equality and women's empowerment, facilitating discussions on resources and support for women's initiatives. 4) Resource Mobilization Opportunities: Identify avenues for resource mobilization, including financial contributions and partnerships, and research successful strategies from similar contexts. 5) Analysis of Barriers and Opportunities: Analyze barriers faced by businesses and civil society organizations in promoting gender equality and identify collaboration opportunities. 6) Reporting and Recommendations: Compile a comprehensive report detailing findings from the mapping exercise and provide actionable recommendations for strengthening partnerships with the private sector.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in gender studies, social sciences, international development, business administration, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with four additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical and research skills, a strong understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment, and possess excellent writing and organizational skills. Strong partnership-building skills are also essential for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as gender studies, social sciences, international development, or business administration. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with four additional years of relevant experience may be considered acceptable.
Experience: Candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in research, consultancy, or project management focused on gender equality, women's empowerment, or civil society engagement. Additionally, candidates should have experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including designing and implementing surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Familiarity with the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and experience working with UN agencies or international organizations are considered assets.
Languages: Fluency in Georgian and English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage, but it is not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is home-based, but consultants may need to travel outside of Tbilisi as part of their assignment. The expected completion time for deliverables includes a brief summary of stakeholder mapping by 25 January 2026, a stakeholder engagement summary by 25 February 2026, and a final resource mobilization strategy by 20 March 202
