Job Overview:
The Associate Director, Strategic Information will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership for strategic information across the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project portfolio. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and health information systems, specifically in areas such as HIV, global health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, nutrition, and maternal, newborn, and child health. The Associate Director will lead a team of experts to ensure robust data management protocols are in place, enabling informed decision-making and effective reporting to stakeholders, including the United States Government. The role requires collaboration with various senior project leaders and government officials to achieve ambitious health outcomes efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Director will oversee two team leads, one focused on HIV and the other on additional technical areas, ensuring that project objectives in monitoring and evaluation are met. Responsibilities include managing the work of health information systems experts to enhance data systems across multiple platforms, such as the Maternal Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response system and the District Health Information System II. The role also involves strengthening data management capabilities among implementing partners and government health facilities, developing data visualization systems, and liaising with government and international organizations to ensure project objectives are met. The Associate Director will manage annual data quality assurance activities, provide technical assistance for standard operating procedures, and develop Power BI dashboards for project results visualization. Additionally, the position requires managing reporting into U.S. Government data platforms and collaborating with finance teams to ensure project delivery on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in statistics, public health, behavioral and social sciences, or a related field, along with five years of leadership experience in strategic information for public health programs. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with over eight years of relevant experience is acceptable. Applicants should have experience in contributing to national and subnational data management standards in health, particularly in HIV, nutrition, and maternal health, and demonstrate a history of capacity building. Strong communication and coordination skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in an international environment. Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and supervising teams is required, along with advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and data visualization.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, public health, or behavioral and social sciences is required. A Bachelor's degree may be considered if accompanied by extensive relevant experience. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in data management and public health principles, equipping the candidate with the necessary skills to lead strategic information initiatives effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of leadership experience in strategic information for public health programs, or eight years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree. Candidates should have a proven track record in data management within health sectors, particularly in areas such as HIV, nutrition, and maternal health. Experience in building the capacity of others and contributing to national standards is highly desirable, as is the ability to navigate complex international environments and manage diverse teams.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Nepali is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills required for documentation and reporting. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this position.
