Job Overview: The Project Coordinator for Education in Emergencies will play a crucial role in managing and implementing the ECW Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) Phase II, which focuses on providing educational opportunities for Rohingya refugees and host community children in Bangladesh. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing project management, ensuring effective coordination with partners such as UNICEF and UNHCR, and monitoring the implementation of educational initiatives. This position requires a strong commitment to improving access to quality education, promoting inclusivity, and enhancing the overall educational environment for children affected by the Rohingya crisis. The coordinator will also engage in strategic planning, technical guidance, and partnership building to mobilize resources and support for the education sector in Cox's Bazar.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Project Management and Coordination: Oversee the implementation of the ECW MYRP Phase II, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Develop operational plans, monitor progress against indicators, and manage budgets effectively.
Technical Guidance and Support: Provide technical assistance to government counterparts, NGOs, and UN partners on education policies and best practices. Participate in relevant working groups and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
Communication and Knowledge Management: Prepare written outputs such as reports, concept notes, and presentations to raise awareness of UNESCO's initiatives. Facilitate knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
Partnership Building and Resource Mobilization: Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to enhance cooperation and secure funding for educational programs.
Project Office Operation and Security Management: Ensure the safe operation of the project office in Cox's Bazar in collaboration with administrative and security teams.
Gender Equality: Ensure that gender equality is integrated into all project activities and initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in international development, education, or related fields. A PhD in education or a related area is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the education sector, with at least 2 years at the international level. Experience in emergency and crisis contexts, particularly in Cox's Bazar, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong project management skills, technical expertise in education, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
