Job Posting Organization:
The Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM) is part of the Department of Operational Support (DOS) within the United Nations. OSCM is dedicated to providing efficient, agile, and responsive supply chain solutions to support the operational needs of the UN and its global partners. Job Overview:
The Project Management Intern position within OSCM offers a unique opportunity to engage in project management and data administration activities. The intern will support various project management tasks, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Interns will leverage Agile Principles to analyze project tasks and timelines, ensuring continuity and effective communication across teams. The position also involves preparing presentations and reports to communicate project updates to management and stakeholders, as well as collaborating with cross-functional divisions to meet organizational objectives. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the UN's operations and enhance skills in project and program management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Management Intern include: supporting project management activities such as planning and scheduling; tracking project progress and ensuring timely completion of deliverables; managing time effectively and adapting to changing priorities; leveraging Agile Principles for project analysis; coordinating weekly updates for key projects; developing presentations to communicate project findings; collaborating with various divisions to meet objectives; translating data results into reports; preparing meeting agendas and documenting notes; organizing meetings and events; supporting data cleaning and maintaining databases; creating data visualizations; identifying issues and developing solutions; and possessing basic knowledge of Human Resources processes. The intern will also engage in training components to gain a broader understanding of UN operations and enhance their project management skills.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), be in the final academic year of a university degree program (minimum bachelor's level), or have graduated with a university degree. No prior work experience is required, but candidates should possess skills and knowledge that would benefit the UN during the internship. Preferred candidates will have a degree or be pursuing studies in Project Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or related fields. Proficiency in Office 365 applications is required, along with experience in drafting reports and presentations, data collection, analysis, and visualization.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes enrollment in a graduate program or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. Candidates who have recently graduated with a relevant degree are also eligible to apply. The preferred fields of study include Project Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or related disciplines. The internship is designed to provide practical experience that complements academic learning.

Experience:
While no prior work experience is required for this internship, candidates should demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge that can contribute to the UN's objectives. Experience in using Office 365 applications, drafting reports, and presenting findings is desirable. Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools is also beneficial. The ability to work independently in a complex environment is considered an asset, as is any previous internship experience with the UN or similar organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is desirable and can enhance a candidate's application. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The internship is available for a duration of 3-6 months and can be conducted in-person in New York or remotely. Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations, and they are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses. For non-U.S. citizens, obtaining a G4 visa is mandatory for the internship. The UN does not charge any fees during the recruitment process, and candidates should be cautious of any requests for personal financial information.
