Job Overview: The Fundraising Assistant position is crucial for supporting the Individual Giving (IG) Programmes in the Gulf and MENA region. The role involves working under the supervision of the PSP IG Officer to raise funds from donors and prospects, aligning with the overall objectives and targets of the unit. The Fundraising Assistant will engage with donors through various techniques, including calls and emails, to foster relationships and encourage donations. The position requires the creation of donor journeys tailored to different segments, ensuring that the donor experience is positive and engaging. The assistant will also be responsible for handling donor inquiries and requests efficiently, conducting research to understand donor motivations, and providing insights to improve fundraising campaigns. Duties and Responsibilities: The Fundraising Assistant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: raising funds for assigned campaigns and consistently meeting or exceeding fundraising targets; researching potential donors and prospects to gain insights into their motivations; actively engaging with donors through various communication channels to raise funds and maintain relationships; creating and implementing donor journeys tailored to different donor segments; supporting the Donor Care Associate in developing key journeys for regular giving and upgrading middle donors; managing donor cases and requests promptly; designing surveys to gather insights about the donor database; providing feedback to the team based on donor insights to enhance campaign effectiveness; utilizing CRM and marketing tools to perform tasks; promoting UNHCR's values in conversations with prospects; participating in team meetings and UNHCR-related activities; and performing any other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have successfully completed secondary school education, with further studies in business, marketing, sales, or a related field being advantageous. A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required, with additional experience in fundraising or the NGO sector considered a plus. Key competencies include effective scripting for donor conversations, emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, active listening, interpersonal skills, and the ability to receive and provide constructive feedback. Technical skills in using CRMs and marketing tools are essential, along with good learning skills to acquire organizational knowledge. Cultural awareness and sensitivity, particularly regarding Gulf communities, are important, as is a commitment to human rights and humanitarian principles. Candidates should be self-driven, professional, reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team while being motivated by targets and numbers.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes the successful completion of secondary school education. Further studies in business, marketing, sales, or a related field are preferred and can enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant work experience. Candidates with a bachelor's degree may have an added advantage in the selection process.
