Job Overview:
The Handyman position at the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is a short-term role aimed at providing essential maintenance and cleaning services to ensure the office environment is well-maintained and functional. The selected candidates will be placed on a roster and may be called upon as operational needs arise. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining the office premises, including the garden and surrounding areas. The Handyman will work under the supervision of the National Building Maintenance Officer and will be expected to assist various units within the office, particularly the Fund Administration Unit (FAU) and Materials Management Unit (MMU). This position is crucial for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Handyman will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: cleaning concrete drainage channels and walkways; assisting with snow and ice removal outside the office perimeter; loading and unloading equipment and materials; sweeping the office territory and removing leaves; cleaning gutters and drains; caring for the office garden, which includes watering, seasonal cutting, and fertilizing; and performing other duties as required by the National Building Maintenance Officer. The role demands a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently while ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess at least three years of working experience in gardening, irrigation, and street cleaning. Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work (220V and low-current equipment) are essential. Experience working with international organizations is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, excellent physical ability, strong organizational skills, and a high level of attention to detail. A willingness to develop skills and knowledge, adaptability to change, and a positive, approachable manner are also important attributes for this role.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. Additional vocational training or certifications in relevant fields such as gardening, maintenance, or construction would be advantageous but are not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in areas such as gardening, irrigation, street cleaning, or general maintenance. Experience in a similar role within an international organization is highly desirable, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational standards and expectations of such environments.

Languages:
Proficiency in Russian and Tajik languages is mandatory for this position, as these are the primary languages used in the office. Knowledge of English is considered an asset and would enhance communication within the diverse team and with international stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as short-term/temporary, with a monthly remuneration of 444.08 EUR, subject to social security deductions.
