Job Overview:
The Green Economic Transformation & Inclusive Development Specialist will serve as a National Consultant, focusing on promoting sustainable economic practices and inclusive development strategies within Vietnam. This role is crucial in aligning national policies with global sustainability goals, particularly in the context of climate change and economic resilience. The specialist will be expected to analyze current economic practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable strategies that foster green economic growth while ensuring that marginalized communities are included in the development process. The position requires a deep understanding of both economic principles and social equity, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society, and the private sector. The assignment is set to last from December 2025 to February 2027, indicating a long-term commitment to the objectives of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Green Economic Transformation & Inclusive Development Specialist include conducting comprehensive assessments of existing economic policies and practices in Vietnam, developing strategic frameworks for green economic transformation, facilitating stakeholder consultations to gather input and foster collaboration, and providing technical guidance on best practices for inclusive development. The specialist will also be responsible for preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to UNDP and other stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves monitoring and evaluating the implementation of proposed strategies, ensuring that they align with both national priorities and international commitments to sustainable development. The specialist will need to stay updated on global trends in green economics and inclusive development, adapting strategies as necessary to meet evolving challenges and opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in economics, sustainable development, or a related field, with a proven track record of working on projects that promote green economic practices and social inclusion. Strong analytical skills are essential, as well as the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate collaborative efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as familiarity with the UNDP's mission and operational framework. A demonstrated commitment to sustainable development and social equity is crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in economics, environmental science, sustainable development, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree will be given preference. Additional certifications or training in project management, stakeholder engagement, or related areas will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in economic development, sustainability, or a related field. Experience working in Vietnam or similar contexts is highly desirable. Candidates should have a history of successfully managing projects that involve multiple stakeholders and demonstrate the ability to deliver results in complex environments. Previous experience with UNDP or other international organizations will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Vietnamese is mandatory for this position, as the specialist will need to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and produce reports in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to the region, will be considered a plus.
