Job Overview: The position involves providing international technical assistance for the Integrated Bio-Behavioral Surveillance Survey and Size Estimation of Key Populations (IBBS IST/HIV) among key and mobile populations in Algeria. The contractor will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the survey, which aims to gather critical data on the health behaviors and needs of vulnerable populations. The role requires a blend of remote and in-person work, with a total mission duration of 60 days, including 35 days of remote work and 25 days of on-site work in Algeria. The contractor will need to engage with local stakeholders, analyze data, and contribute to the overall objectives of the survey, ensuring that the findings are relevant and actionable for public health interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance in the design and implementation of the Integrated Bio-Behavioral Surveillance Survey.
Collaborate with local health authorities and stakeholders to ensure the survey meets the needs of key populations.
Analyze data collected during the survey and prepare comprehensive reports on findings.
Develop strategies for effective outreach and engagement with target populations.
Ensure compliance with ethical standards and guidelines throughout the survey process.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of the survey, making adjustments as necessary to meet objectives.
Provide recommendations based on survey findings to inform public health policies and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in conducting bio-behavioral surveys or similar public health research.
Strong understanding of HIV/AIDS and related health issues affecting key populations.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Familiarity with ethical considerations in public health research.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in research methodologies or public health interventions will be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in public health research, particularly in the context of HIV/AIDS and key populations. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French and English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but not required.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for eight months, with a total of 60 days of work, including both remote and in-person engagements. The position is classified as an individual contractor role, and candidates may be recruited internationally. Compensation and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
