Job Overview:
The Strategy and Operations Manager position is pivotal within the Ethics and Compliance Department (ECD) at Mercy Corps. This role requires specialized expertise and direct project management support to align with the organization's strategic priorities. The manager will work closely with the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO) to implement streamlined project management processes that enhance cohesion and clarity within the ECD. The position involves engaging in strategic opportunities and cross-organizational projects aimed at improving decision-making and communication across the agency. The Strategy and Operations Manager will also serve as a strategic advisor to the ECD Leadership Team, executing a knowledge management framework that facilitates resource creation and retention. This role champions best practices and technology platforms to enhance communication and engagement related to the functions of the Ethics and Compliance department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Strategy and Operations Manager include providing executive support to the CECO, maintaining the CECO's calendar, scheduling meetings, preparing briefing materials, and proofreading department documents. The manager will support strategic planning by identifying partnership opportunities, developing organization-wide ethics initiatives, and facilitating interdepartmental dialogue. They will lead the design and implementation of an ECD Analytics Strategy, innovate analytics solutions, and develop standardized reporting templates. Additionally, the manager will provide logistical support for department meetings, oversee financial records, support recruitment, and manage onboarding processes for new team members. Project management responsibilities include leading key strategic workstreams, refining ECD products and deliverables, and ensuring effective communication across teams. The manager will also facilitate knowledge management initiatives and support the Joint Ethics and Safeguarding Committee by coordinating meetings and preparing necessary materials.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment, with at least 4 years in an administrative and executive support role, preferably within an NGO. A Bachelor's degree in International Development or a relevant field is required. Experience in international, non-profit, or government sectors is essential, along with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a timely manner. Strong decision-making capabilities, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving skills are crucial. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, relationship management experience, and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams. Confidentiality, analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office software are also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in International Development or a related field is required for this position.
