Job Overview: The Gift Processing Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of daily donations into Mercy Corps’ donor database. This role focuses on mass market direct mail, online, and monthly gifts, ensuring that all data entry is performed with precision. The coordinator will create and maintain accurate donation and constituent records in The Raiser’s Edge, adhering to established data standards while performing ongoing data hygiene tasks. Collaboration with the Development Operations team and partner vendors is essential for problem-solving and managing complex gift and data entry cases. The position requires adaptability to evolving responsibilities as systems and organizational needs change, and the coordinator will also back up and cross-train with the Senior Coordinator for Major & Special Gifts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Gift Processing Coordinator's duties include downloading donation transaction reports from various software and data sources, organizing and validating gift data in Excel, and importing it into The Raiser’s Edge donor database. They ensure correct gift coding and provide specialized handling for complex gifts, such as donor-advised funds and gifts with premiums. The coordinator serves as the point person for monthly giving data, processes monthly giving signups, and validates monthly gifts regularly. They also complete various updates in The Raiser’s Edge, including solicit code requests and deceased notifications, and troubleshoot database problems related to gift and constituent records. Additionally, the coordinator will perform tasks at the Portland office, such as sorting donation mail and maintaining documentation related to policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have at least one year of experience in nonprofits, preferably in fundraising, development operations, or finance. Familiarity with The Raiser’s Edge database or other donor databases is required, with RE NXT experience considered a plus.
