Job Overview: The Finance Senior Officer position at DRC is a critical role that focuses on supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and grant financial management. This position is essential for ensuring that financial processes are executed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The Finance Senior Officer will work closely with the Finance Manager and various teams, including program and grants teams, to ensure that financial data is accurate and compliant with donor requirements. The role involves consolidating operational and proposal budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring timely reporting to donors. The Finance Senior Officer will also play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data within the Dynamics ERP system, providing support and training to finance staff, and ensuring that all financial activities align with DRC's standards and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Senior Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: consolidating operational and proposal budgets in collaboration with Grants and Program teams; supporting the development and monitoring of the Master Budget; ensuring the timely completion of the BFU cycle; reviewing BFUs for potential adjustments and overspend risks; maintaining staff cost allocation and resource scheduling sheets; preparing annual budgets and reconciling data with Dynamics; assisting in the preparation of financial compliance checklists; participating in project kick-off and closure meetings; supporting the correct use of Dynamics for finance staff; ensuring high data accuracy in the ERP system; coordinating with the Grants Unit to maintain an updated reporting calendar; developing internal action plans for timely submissions; preparing donor financial reports; and supporting partners in budget preparation and reporting processes. The Finance Senior Officer may also be required to perform any other duties as requested by the Finance Manager.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for the Finance Senior Officer position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with additional certification in a related field being a plus. A minimum of three years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and grant financial management is required. Candidates should have strong experience working with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics, and a solid understanding of donor reporting requirements and budgeting rules. Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables, formulas, and data modeling, are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage heavy workloads under tight deadlines. Excellent communication and coordination skills with stakeholders are also necessary.
