Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer involves assisting PROSDOMA in managing and creating content for its social media platforms. Volunteers will be responsible for producing teaching materials and graphics that align with the organization's objectives. The teaching materials will focus on critical issues such as boosting agricultural activities, fighting climate change, protecting the environment, encouraging biodiversity conservation, and promoting sustainable migration policies. Volunteers will engage in research, graphic design, and content writing to effectively communicate these themes to the target audience. This role is crucial in helping PROSDOMA raise awareness and provide valuable information to newcomers and the broader community.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an Online Volunteer, you will be expected to complete one of the following tasks:
Conduct research on articles that relate to the objectives of PROSDOMA, focusing on topics such as biodiversity conservation, sustainable food production, fighting climate change, promoting sustainable migration policies, and boosting agriculture.
Design five graphics related to the researched articles on a weekly basis.
Write short notes summarizing the researched articles and graphic designs for posting on PROSDOMA's social media pages.
Submit the graphics and written articles for review and posting on PROSDOMA's social media accounts. This role requires creativity, research skills, and the ability to communicate effectively through visual and written content.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong research skills, creativity in graphic design, and the ability to write clearly and concisely. Familiarity with social media platforms and content management is essential. Volunteers should be self-motivated and able to work independently while adhering to deadlines. A passion for sustainable development and social inclusion is highly desirable, as is an understanding of the challenges faced by newcomers in Canada.
Educational Background: While there are no specific educational requirements for this volunteer position, a background in communications, social sciences, environmental studies, or a related field would be beneficial. Experience in graphic design or social media management is also advantageous.
Experience: No prior experience is required for this volunteer role, but any experience related to research, content creation, or social media management will be considered an asset. Volunteers should be comfortable working in a remote environment and managing their time effectively to meet the expectations of the role.
