Job Overview:
The Human Resources Officer position is situated within the Human Resources Division (CSH) at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures while coordinating talent acquisition and management-related activities. The officer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR expertise, planning and executing multidisciplinary HR programs, and developing related policies and specialized tools. The position requires a strategic approach to HR, focusing on the effective recruitment, management, development, and retirement of the FAO workforce. The officer will also be involved in analyzing HR requirements and trends to support service delivery and new HR initiatives, thereby contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Officer will lead projects and work teams, participate in divisional teams, and provide professional HR expertise on organization-wide HR committees. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering HR programs, analyzing HR data to support strategic decision-making, and providing specialist HR advice to business partners. The officer will manage special projects, develop training materials, and assist management and staff in resolving complex HR issues. Specific functions include overseeing talent acquisition processes for senior staff, managing recruitment operations, liaising with senior management, preparing analytical HR reports, and contributing to the development of talent management strategies. The officer will also research regulations and best practices, develop guidance documents, and identify training needs to enhance HR capacity.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in human resources management, social sciences relevant to human resources, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in human resources management, particularly in talent acquisition and management strategies, is required. Proficiency in English (level C) and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is also necessary. Competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, and building effective relationships are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree, specifically a Master's degree or equivalent, in fields related to human resources management or social sciences. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of HR policies and practices within an international organization like FAO.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in human resources management, with a strong focus on the development and implementation of talent acquisition and management strategies. Experience in various locations or areas of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable. Languages:
