Job Overview:
The position of Casual Worker - Registration at the Danish Refugee Council involves a range of responsibilities aimed at providing support to visitors and beneficiaries. The role is crucial in ensuring that individuals seeking assistance receive accurate information about the services available to them. The Casual Worker will be the first point of contact for visitors, welcoming them and guiding them through the registration process. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Casual Worker will also be responsible for managing appointment bookings, handling inquiries and complaints, and ensuring that the reception area is organized and informative. The role is designed to support the smooth operation of the organization’s activities, particularly in the context of providing assistance to refugees and IDPs. The Casual Worker will collaborate with logistics and protection teams to ensure that operations run smoothly and that beneficiaries receive the necessary support in a timely manner. The expected start date for this position is as soon as possible, and the contract length is set for seven months, reflecting the organization's commitment to providing ongoing support in a challenging environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Casual Worker - Registration will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: welcoming visitors and beneficiaries to the organization, providing guidance and delivering accurate information about the services offered; answering and transferring phone calls promptly and professionally, and recording messages when necessary; managing appointment bookings and following up on schedules to ensure that all appointments are kept; receiving and distributing incoming mail and preparing outgoing correspondence; registering visitor information and updating records accurately to maintain up-to-date information; handling inquiries and complaints by providing initial solutions and escalating issues to the relevant department when necessary; ensuring that the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with informational materials; collaborating with logistics and protection teams to support smooth operations and enhance service delivery; and performing any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the effective functioning of the organization.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Casual Worker - Registration position should possess the following qualifications: at least one year of experience in a similar role, preferably within non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or community-based organizations; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, to effectively manage documentation and communication; strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with visitors and colleagues; the ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; and a commitment to the values and mission of the Danish Refugee Council, demonstrating integrity and professionalism in all interactions.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred for this position, ideally in one of the following fields: humanities, psychology, sociology, management, or a related field. This educational background will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively engage with beneficiaries and understand the complexities of the humanitarian context in which the Danish Refugee Council operates.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience in a similar role, particularly in NGOs or community-based organizations. This experience is essential to ensure that the Casual Worker can effectively manage the responsibilities of the position and provide the necessary support to visitors and beneficiaries.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is Arabic, as it is the native language of the majority of the beneficiaries. Basic knowledge of English is also required to facilitate communication with international staff and stakeholders. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals.

This position is classified as a casual worker role, with a contract length of seven months.
