Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will undertake a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: preparing project outlines to support the Unit's activities; assisting in the organization of events such as film screenings, exhibitions, and campaigns; drafting written materials including presentations, remarks, and social media content; creating multimedia products; establishing and maintaining contacts with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), civil society groups, and academic institutions; and performing other tasks as assigned by the supervising professional staff. The intern will work full-time, five days a week, under direct supervision, gaining valuable insights into the workings of the United Nations and its outreach efforts.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they must be enrolled in or have recently completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level). Official written proof from the university supporting one of these conditions must be attached to the application. Additionally, applicants should be computer literate in standard software applications, demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and possess the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary.
