Job Overview: The Individual Contractor will work under the overall supervision of the Director of IDD and the direct supervision of the Chief of IDS. The primary responsibilities include graphic and layout design of reports in accordance with the United Nations Editorial Manual and ESCAP branding guidelines. The contractor will also support project planning with a focus on digital data, artificial intelligence, and connectivity, assisting the project officer in drafting project plans. Additionally, the contractor will facilitate project group meetings and contribute to the development of materials such as concept notes, meeting minutes, and workshop event posters. A key aspect of the role involves drafting a questionnaire to evaluate events and assess participants' knowledge regarding cross-border data-sharing frameworks and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: 1) Supporting the finalization of previous research and assisting in ongoing studies to formulate future research directions. 2) Organizing and delivering project group meetings, both in-person and online, from August 2025 to March 2026, including an offline workshop event at the end of 202
3) Providing support for project-related activities as required, which may include stakeholder engagement, awareness raising, and capacity building efforts. The contractor will also be involved in the development of materials necessary for the successful execution of project objectives, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of the ESCAP initiative.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a major in ICT, social science, economics, public administration, statistics, or a related field. Strong knowledge of information and communication technology is essential, along with proven skills in developing policy papers, technical ICT reports, and UN publications. The contractor should have demonstrated research and writing skills, consulting experience in ICT policy recommendations at national or subregional institutions, and familiarity with UN processes and project management.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is required, specifically a degree in ICT, social science, economics, public administration, statistics, or a related field. This educational foundation will support the contractor's ability to engage with complex data and contribute effectively to project objectives.
Experience: Candidates should have experience working in ICT policy development, particularly in a consulting capacity.
