Job Overview:
The Video Graphics Intern position is situated within the Video Section of the News and Content Branch, part of the News and Media Division in the Department of Global Communications at the United Nations. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in video production and editing, focusing on creating content for various platforms including social media and news outlets. Interns will work closely with producers and will be trained in essential skills such as script writing, video captioning, and editing using Adobe Creative Cloud tools like Premiere Pro and After Effects. The role may also involve assisting in studio recordings, conducting research on content distribution channels, and analyzing video products. The internship is primarily full-time and in-person, but there is flexibility for remote or part-time arrangements upon request.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: assisting in the writing of scripts for video content, captioning videos in multiple languages, and editing video footage using Adobe Creative Cloud applications. They may also be tasked with design and animation duties, supporting studio recordings, and analyzing video products for effectiveness. Additionally, interns will conduct research on best practices for content distribution and identify relevant video festivals that align with the UN's content. Other ad hoc duties may be assigned as needed to support the team and its projects.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in fields such as communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies. Alternatively, candidates may be in their final year of a bachelor's degree in these areas. Proficiency in standard software applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, is required. A demonstrated interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals are essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes being enrolled in or having completed a graduate program or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree program in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies.
