Job Overview:
The consultancy position is primarily focused on providing technical input and expertise in the production and delivery of media articles and visual presentations for internal events within the Division of Human Health. The consultant will also be responsible for preparing media articles for the IAEA and other entities. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying communication needs within the Division and Department, and the ability to drive strategic external communications through effective content management across various digital platforms and social media. The consultant will conceptualize, research, and publish web articles and press releases that highlight the Division's research and development activities, successes, and best practices, ensuring that the content is accessible to non-specialist audiences. Additionally, the consultant will draft speeches for high-level officials and prepare public information materials, collaborating with various internal teams to maintain a consistent messaging approach.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Regularly identify the communications and information needs of the Division and Department related to human health.
  • Drive strategic external communications by managing content across IAEA's digital platforms and social media.
  • Conceptualize, research, and publish web articles and press releases on the Division's activities and achievements.
  • Draft speeches for the Director and Deputy Director General as requested.
  • Prepare texts for public information materials including brochures, flyers, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with multimedia and communications teams to ensure consistent visuals and messaging.
  • Develop communication strategies for high-level external events and conferences.
  • Organize outreach activities and provide technical input for exhibitions and donor briefings.
  • Provide technical support to Divisional outputs, including proofreading and quality checks.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced university degree (master's) in International Marketing, Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in reviewing multimedia content and articles at a national or international level.
  • Proven experience in designing promotional and outreach materials.
  • Experience in formulating communications strategies for international events.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English; knowledge of other IAEA official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's) in fields such as International Marketing, Communications, International Relations, or other related disciplines. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively communicate and engage with diverse audiences.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant working experience, particularly in reviewing multimedia content and articles at both national and international levels. Candidates should have a strong background in designing promotional and outreach materials and formulating communications strategies for international events, demonstrating their ability to manage complex communication tasks effectively.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with an excellent command required for both oral and written communication. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy offers a daily fee of up to a maximum of €250, which is determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. If travel is required as part of the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs will be provided. It is important to note that health coverage and pension fund responsibilities lie with the incumbent, indicating that the position may not include traditional employee benefits.
