Job Overview:
The position of IC- The Field/ Local Coordinator is crucial for the successful implementation of UNDP projects in Albania. The coordinator will be responsible for overseeing local project activities, ensuring that they align with UNDP's strategic objectives and the specific goals of the project. This role requires a deep understanding of local contexts and the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society organizations, and community members. The coordinator will facilitate communication between the project team and local partners, ensuring that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the coordinator will be expected to monitor project progress, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for improvements based on field observations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the IC- The Field/ Local Coordinator include but are not limited to:

• Coordinating and managing project activities at the local level, ensuring alignment with UNDP's objectives.
• Engaging with local stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for project initiatives.
• Monitoring and evaluating project implementation, collecting data, and preparing progress reports.
• Identifying challenges and proposing solutions to enhance project effectiveness.
• Facilitating training and capacity-building activities for local partners.
• Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout project execution.
• Representing UNDP in local meetings and forums to advocate for project goals and objectives.
• Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and funding applications as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong qualifications to be considered for the IC- The Field/ Local Coordinator position. This includes a proven track record in project management, particularly in development contexts. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. Familiarity with UNDP's mission and operational procedures is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in the field.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, public administration, or social sciences is required. A master's degree in a related discipline is preferred and may enhance the candidate's competitiveness for the position. Relevant certifications in project management or related areas will also be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in project coordination or management, preferably within the context of international development or humanitarian assistance. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of local development issues and possess the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UNDP. Proficiency in Albanian is also required, given the local context of the position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the local population or project stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an individual contractor role, which may involve a flexible working arrangement. The contract duration and specific terms will be discussed during the selection process. The position is full-time, and candidates may be required to travel within Albania as part of their duties.
