Job Overview: The Divisional RI-PC position is integral to the Bihar-RI Strengthening project, focusing on the operationalization of immunization programs in the state. The role requires a highly motivated individual with strong fieldwork experience to implement programmatic activities effectively. The Divisional RI-PC will serve as the primary point of contact for program implementation, building relationships with health officials, coordinating activities, and conducting field visits to collect data. The position demands excellent planning and operational skills, as well as a commitment to improving health outcomes through effective immunization strategies. The individual will work closely with the State EPI Officer and other stakeholders to enhance immunization coverage and ensure the success of the initiatives undertaken.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Divisional RI-PC will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Building and maintaining trust-based relationships with government health officials at various levels.
Acting as the primary liaison between state-level program teams and district-level stakeholders.
Supporting the implementation of activities aimed at improving UWIN uptake and facilitating data-driven decision-making.
Coordinating RI microplanning activities to enhance the quality of immunization planning processes.
Training health facility workers on data tools and protocols related to new initiatives.
Conducting monthly visits to health facilities for assessments and troubleshooting support.
Developing Monthly Progress Reports to document achievements and challenges.
Collaborating with team members to maximize programmatic learnings.
Traveling extensively within assigned duty stations to support implementation work. 1
Undertaking additional programmatic activities as requested by program leadership.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Health Management, Social Work, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing immunization programs or similar health initiatives is required, preferably at the district or divisional level. Strong program coordination and training support skills, along with effective stakeholder engagement abilities, are essential. Proficiency in data collection and analysis, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office software, is also necessary. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently in dynamic situations are highly valued.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields such as Public Health, Health Management, Social Work, Business Administration, Nursing, or related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of health systems and the implementation of health programs effectively.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in the implementation of immunization programs, maternal and child health initiatives, or similar health-related projects. Experience at the district or divisional level is preferred, as it provides the necessary context and understanding of local health systems and challenges.
Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages being essential. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, but English and Hindi are the primary languages required for effective communication within the role.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Bihar and will require frequent travel to 1-2 districts each month, approximately 15-20 days of travel per month. The role is full-time and involves a significant amount of fieldwork. The last date to apply for this position is 9th January 2026.
