Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Multi-Sectoral Data Operations will play a crucial role in supporting the UNDP's initiatives in Bangladesh. The consultant will be expected to collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to gather and analyze data that informs policy and program decisions. The consultant will also be responsible for developing strategies to enhance data quality and accessibility, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of UNDP's programs in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant for Multi-Sectoral Data Operations include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of existing data collection methods and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement data collection tools and methodologies that meet the needs of various sectors.
  • Analyzing data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for intervention.
  • Preparing detailed reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Providing training and support to local partners on data management practices and tools.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP's data governance policies and ethical standards.
  • Participating in meetings and workshops to share insights and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of data operations on program outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in data management, statistics, or a related field. A proven track record of working with multi-sectoral data operations is essential. Familiarity with UNDP's mission and objectives, as well as experience in the development sector, will be highly regarded. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams are critical for success in this role. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline will be considered an asset. Candidates should have formal training in data analysis and management, as well as experience with statistical software and data visualization tools.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in data operations, analysis, and management. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Previous experience in capacity building and training of local partners will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages will be considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of data collection efforts.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an individual contractor role for a period of 90 days over six months. The consultant will work on a flexible schedule, with the expectation of delivering high-quality outputs within the specified timeframe. The role is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
