Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Technical Support in Health Tech Implementation will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of health technology initiatives in Bangladesh. This position requires a deep understanding of health systems and technology integration, as well as the ability to provide technical guidance and support to various stakeholders involved in health tech projects. The consultant will be expected to work closely with government agencies, health institutions, and other partners to ensure that health technology solutions are effectively integrated into existing health systems. The assignment will last for a period of 90 days over six months, during which the consultant will be responsible for assessing current health tech implementations, identifying gaps, and recommending solutions to enhance the effectiveness of health services through technology. The consultant will also be tasked with developing training materials and conducting workshops to build capacity among health workers and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting a comprehensive assessment of existing health technology implementations in Bangladesh.
  • Identifying gaps and challenges in the current health tech landscape and proposing actionable solutions.
  • Collaborating with government agencies and health institutions to facilitate the integration of health technology into existing systems.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to stakeholders involved in health tech projects.
  • Developing training materials and conducting workshops for health workers to enhance their capacity in using health technology solutions.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of health tech implementations and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Preparing detailed reports on findings and recommendations for UNDP and other stakeholders.
  • Engaging with international and local partners to share best practices and lessons learned in health tech implementation.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A strong background in health systems, public health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in health technology implementation and integration within health systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex health tech challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with the health sector in Bangladesh and understanding of local health policies and regulations.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have at least a Master's degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Health Systems Management, or a related field. A PhD or equivalent advanced degree is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant certifications in health technology or project management will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in health technology implementation, public health, or health systems management. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of health projects in Bangladesh, is highly desirable. The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully managing health tech projects and engaging with government and non-government stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Bengali or other local languages is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and health workers.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a consultancy contract for a duration of 90 days over six months. The consultant will work on a part-time basis, with flexibility in hours to accommodate project needs. The role is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
