The expert will also be expected to prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations, contributing to the overall goal of improving the economic landscape of the construction material sector in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Expert include but are not limited to: conducting a thorough analysis of the current construction material industry in FBIH; identifying key stakeholders and facilitating consultations to gather input and feedback; developing a comprehensive development strategy that addresses the identified challenges and leverages opportunities; preparing detailed reports and documentation outlining the strategy, including implementation plans and monitoring frameworks; presenting findings and recommendations to UNDP and relevant stakeholders; ensuring that the strategy aligns with national and regional development goals; providing ongoing support and guidance during the implementation phase of the strategy; and collaborating with other experts and consultants as necessary to achieve project objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in economic development, industrial policy, or a related field. A proven track record of working on similar projects, particularly in the construction material industry, is essential. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate discussions. Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Bosnia and Herzegovina and experience working with international organizations will be considered an asset.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in economics, business administration, engineering, or a related field is required. Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in economic development, industrial strategy formulation, or a related area. Experience working with government agencies, international organizations, or private sector stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina or the broader Balkan region is highly desirable. Proven experience in leading similar projects and managing multidisciplinary teams will be an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Bosnian, Croatian, or Serbian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the strategy development process. Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the assignment is expected to last from December 2025 to May 2026, with an estimated total of 60 working days.
