Job Overview: The position involves providing specialized consultancy aimed at strengthening prevention models, protection strategies, and self-protection strategies for peacebuilding populations in prioritized territories under the project 'Trayectorias de Paz y Desarrollo'. The consultant will be expected to design and implement strategies that enhance human rights and collective protection, ensuring that the methodologies developed are gender-sensitive and consider the specific needs of the communities involved. The role requires a deep understanding of the socio-political context in Colombia, particularly in relation to peacebuilding and transitional justice, as well as the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including victims and signatories of the Peace Agreement.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
Design and implement strategies for the prevention and protection of peacebuilding populations, ensuring alignment with the project's objectives.
Conduct territorial diagnostics and characterizations to inform the development of tailored methodologies.
Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to ensure their participation in the design and implementation of strategies.
Develop training materials and conduct workshops to build capacity among local actors in human rights and protection strategies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, providing recommendations for improvement.
Prepare detailed reports on findings and progress, ensuring transparency and accountability in the consultancy process.
Engage in continuous communication with UNDP and other relevant entities to align efforts and share best practices.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a professional degree in one of the following fields: Law, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Administration, Government, or International Relations. Additionally, a specialization in Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Memory, Peacebuilding, Conflict Negotiation and Resolution, Social Intervention, or Social Development and Innovation is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to human rights and social justice, with a proven ability to work in complex and sensitive environments.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a professional degree in relevant fields such as Law, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Administration, Government, or International Relations. Furthermore, candidates must have a specialization in areas related to human rights, international humanitarian law, or peacebuilding, which is essential for understanding the complexities of the role and the context in which they will be working.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience related to the design and implementation of strategies in human rights, collective protection, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, transitional justice, or territorial diagnostics. Within these seven years, at least one (1) year must be dedicated to developing methodologies with a gender-sensitive, differential, and territorial approach, and at least one (1) year of experience working with peacebuilding populations, including victims or signatories of the Peace Agreement.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, given the local context and the populations involved. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and enhance the consultant's ability to engage with broader UNDP initiatives.
