Job Overview:
The Programme Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UN Women’s programs, particularly in the context of the Women, Peace and Security Project, *She Leads Peace: Consolidating Women and Girls' Meaningful Participation and Leadership in Peace, Security, and Recovery Processes in Mozambique (2025-2027). This position involves providing advanced administrative and logistical support to the Programme Team, contributing to research, financial management, and program implementation. The Programme Associate will work closely with various stakeholders, including operations, program, and project staff, to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with UN Women’s rules and regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage complex finance-related issues while facilitating communication and collaboration among team members and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate is responsible for a wide range of duties, including: 1) Providing advanced administrative support in the formulation and management of programs, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals. 2) Offering technical guidance to country offices and executing agencies on program delivery and reporting. 3) Coordinating the collection of information for program audits and supporting the implementation of audit recommendations. 4) Contributing to the development of standard operating procedures and guidelines for program management. 5) Monitoring budget preparation and finances of programs/projects, preparing periodic reports, and maintaining internal expenditures control systems. 6) Overseeing logistical and administrative arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events. 7) Preparing public information materials and liaising with high-level officials on administrative issues. 8) Supporting resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements and processing information from donors. 9) Facilitating knowledge building and sharing best practices related to program management and finance. 10) Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Gender, Social Sciences, or Administration being desirable. Candidates must have at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support, with a minimum of 3 years of experience specifically focused on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment issues. Experience in Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE), or Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) is considered an asset. Proven ability to build and manage effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies and civil society organizations, is essential. Candidates should also have experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages and supporting a team.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor’s degree in Gender, Social Sciences, or Administration is preferred and would enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The Programme Associate should possess at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support. This experience should include a minimum of 3 years working on issues related to Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, with additional experience in Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE), or Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) being advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate and manage partnerships effectively and have experience in a computer environment utilizing various office software packages.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Portuguese is required for this position. Knowledge of the local language, Sena, is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders.
