Job Overview:
The Project Analyst position is a critical role within the Lean Innovation Facility, part of the Young Africa Innovates Programme, which is a collaborative initiative between UNDP and the Mastercard Foundation. This program aims to harness the potential of Nigeria's youth demographic by fostering innovative solutions that drive employment and economic opportunities. The Project Analyst will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the project plan, ensuring that it aligns with the program's goals and objectives. This role requires a proactive approach to managing project execution, engaging with various stakeholders, and adapting to challenges that may arise during implementation. The Project Analyst will also play a key role in analyzing project data to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring that the program remains on track to achieve its intended impact. This position is not only about management but also about providing leadership and vision to inspire and empower young innovators across Nigeria.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Analyst will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading the development and execution of the project plan; coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution; providing regular reports on project status, challenges, and recommendations; overseeing the project budget to ensure optimal resource allocation; analyzing project data to identify trends and potential challenges; offering recommendations for project adjustments based on performance insights; ensuring compliance with UNDP guidelines and procedures; organizing engagement events, workshops, and meetings to foster positive relationships with stakeholders; training and mentoring project team members; and preparing monthly progress reports detailing the project's progress and challenges faced. The incumbent may also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Project Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the above fields combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be considered. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience at the national or international level in project management roles for those with a master's degree, or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Experience managing large-scale projects and a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion are essential. Familiarity with UNDP guidelines and procedures is a plus, and experience in a developing country context is desired.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Project Management, or related disciplines. Candidates with a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these fields, along with additional qualifying experience, will also be considered. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of project management and the socio-economic context in which the UNDP operates.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for the Project Analyst position includes a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in project management roles at the national or international level for candidates with a master's degree. For those with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects effectively and a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion. Experience in a developing country context is preferred, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced in such environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication with stakeholders, reporting, and documentation. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which the project operates.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Abuja, Nigeria, and may require regular travel across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones to ensure effective project implementation and stakeholder engagement. The role is full-time and may involve working with a diverse range of partners, including government entities, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders.
