Job Overview: The National Consultant for the National Inventory of Banks Project will play a crucial role in the preparation of the ODS banks Inventory and a National Plan for Grenada. This position involves working closely with the OzonAction Montreal Protocol Programme Management Officer and the National Ozone Unit (NOU) of Grenada. The consultant will be responsible for providing administrative support for data collection, leading stakeholder consultations, and coordinating a national expert team. The consultant will also support the NOU in establishing a comprehensive inventory of used or unwanted controlled substances and develop a national plan for managing these substances. The role requires a strong understanding of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, as well as project management skills to ensure the successful implementation of the project objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including: (i) Providing administrative support to UNEP’s Independent National Consultant for data collection under the National Inventory of Banks; (ii) Leading stakeholder consultations to gather input, support, and validation for the project’s deliverables, including the Inventory and National Plan; (iii) Collaborating closely with UNEP’s International Consultant and the Independent National Consultant to ensure effective data collection and project execution; (iv) Supporting the NOU in establishing and coordinating a national expert team in line with project requirements; (v) Organizing and facilitating stakeholder consultations, meetings, and events to gain approval and disseminate results and technical information regarding the project; (vi) Preparing project reports that align with the Multilateral Fund’s gender mainstreaming policy and are endorsed by the Government and UNEP; (vii) Working under the guidance of the OzonAction Montreal Protocol Regional Coordinator and maintaining close collaboration with the NOU of Grenada.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a recognized high school diploma. A relevant diploma or certificate, combined with three years of working experience in a related field, may be accepted in lieu of a recognized first-level degree. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience working with the NOU at the national level, showcasing an understanding of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. Experience in project management or a related field is required, including a strong understanding of relevant areas and expertise in the subject matter. A minimum of two years of previous experience in project implementation and reporting, such as preparing progress reports and organizing stakeholder consultations, is also required.
Educational Background: A recognized high school diploma is required for this position. Candidates with a relevant diploma or certificate, along with qualifying work experience, may be considered in lieu of a recognized first-level degree. This educational background should ideally be complemented by training or coursework related to environmental management, project management, or a similar field.

Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered desirable, as it may enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders involved in the project.
