Job Overview:
The Administrative Officer position at UNESCO is a critical role that supports the organization’s mission by ensuring effective administrative and financial management. The incumbent will work under the authority of the director-general" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences and will be directly supervised by the Senior Finance and Administrative Officer. This role involves providing high-level administrative support and ensuring compliance with organizational rules and regulations. The officer will be responsible for managing financial resources, preparing budget reports, and coordinating procurement processes. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. The incumbent will also play a key role in the recruitment process for affiliated staff, ensuring that all administrative formalities are completed efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Officer include acting as a certifying officer for financial transactions, providing guidance on administrative rules and procedures, and advising on operational transactions. The officer will be responsible for ensuring that financial resources are accounted for, scheduling payments, and monitoring expenditures. Additionally, the officer will prepare budget reports, assist in financial planning, and coordinate procurement activities. The role also involves maintaining financial documents for audit purposes, preparing correspondence related to budgetary issues, and supporting the recruitment process for affiliated staff. The officer will need to maintain effective communication with various internal and external partners and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education or possess technical or vocational training. A minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in administrative or secretarial tasks is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential matters with discretion. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and ERP systems, are essential. The ability to build effective working relationships in a multicultural environment is also crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completed secondary education, technical or vocational education. A diploma in Public or Business Administration or a related field is desirable. Specialized secretarial training or a first university degree in administration is also beneficial for candidates.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in administrative or secretarial roles. Languages:
