Job Overview:
The Data Assistant position is integral to the Vector Borne Disease (VBD) Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the National Centre for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC) in Delhi. The role involves providing essential data handling and processing support, ensuring that data related to various vector-borne diseases is accurately collected, cleaned, and validated. The Data Assistant will work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Lead and other TSU staff, contributing to the overall goal of enhancing disease intelligence and analytics for improved decision-making in public health. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: collecting and cleaning data from states and partners, identifying discrepancies and validating data to ensure accuracy, coordinating with stakeholders for timely data submission, and supporting the M&E Lead in data-related tasks. The role also involves compiling reports, conducting basic data analysis to identify trends, and creating visualizations using tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau. Additionally, the Data Assistant will maintain organized data sets, ensure adherence to data quality standards and privacy norms, automate repetitive data tasks to enhance efficiency, and provide technical support and training on data-related queries as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any field and have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience handling large datasets, particularly in health-related contexts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office 365 suite. The ability to prioritize tasks independently, demonstrate professionalism and flexibility, and maintain a keen interest in IT developments related to data management are also required. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, as well as knowledge of statistical methods and data cleaning techniques, are highly desirable. Good oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail are critical for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required for this position. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training related to data management, statistics, or public health, which would provide a solid foundation for the responsibilities of the Data Assistant.
