Interns will work under the guidance of the Chief of Communication Section at ECA's Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The role involves researching content, drafting messages for social media, translating content for media dissemination, and assisting in the development of digital assets for web and social media platforms. Interns will also support event coverage, draft press releases, and assist with media monitoring tasks. Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: researching and drafting content for social media channels on ECA's thematic areas such as Climate Change, Regional Integration, Innovation and Infrastructure Development, and Gender; translating content for dissemination to media and on ECA platforms; developing digital assets for web and social media, including quote cards, GIFs, and videos; covering events and drafting press releases, advisories, and blogs for the ECA website; assisting with media monitoring and updating the media database; supporting internal communications related to the Division of Administration; compiling analysis and data on ECA thematic activities; participating in conferences, webinars, and events organized by ECA; and performing any other duties as requested by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, candidates must meet one of the following conditions: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in journalism, communication, media relations, languages, digital social media, or a related area; or (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent) in the same fields. Internships do not require prior work experience, making this an accessible opportunity for students and recent graduates.
