Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor for ACPC and ARFSD-12 Web and Communication Platforms involves a multifaceted role that encompasses information systems management, digital communication, and event coordination. The contractor is expected to maintain and enhance the ACPC and ARFSD-12 web platforms, ensuring they are user-friendly and effectively communicate relevant information to stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to updating the ACPC database, creating event-specific web pages, and producing high-quality communication materials such as newsletters and social media content. The contractor will also be responsible for organizing digital repositories for project documentation and generating technical reports on IT system performance. The position is crucial for supporting the ACPC's mission to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration on climate change initiatives in Africa, particularly through the organization of workshops, webinars, and conferences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include: A. Information Systems and Knowledge Management: Providing technical support for computer systems and databases, troubleshooting issues, and monitoring system performance. Supporting the development and implementation of new applications and website modules, maintaining technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with UN IT standards. Assisting with data backup, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and user training, as well as conducting research on new IT tools and technologies. B. Digital Communication and Web Support: Designing and maintaining web pages, uploading content, and developing online discussion forums and registration forms. Disseminating knowledge products and ensuring the accuracy of the ACPC database. C. Event Coordination and Support: Supporting logistics for ACPC and ARFSD-12 events, including participant registration and communication. Preparing pre-event and post-event materials and coordinating with speakers and stakeholders. D. Other Duties: Providing general administrative and operational support for ACPC projects and performing other related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced university degree (Master’s) in Information Science, Computer Science, Communications, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be considered. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in information systems is required, demonstrating a strong background in technical support and digital communication.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s) in a relevant field such as Information Science, Computer Science, or Communications. A first-level degree may be acceptable if accompanied by additional relevant experience, highlighting the importance of both formal education and practical expertise in the field.

Experience:
