Job Overview:
The Analyst position is integral to the team responsible for managing EU funds in the Western Balkans. This role involves close collaboration with various departments, including EU Partnerships and Donor Partnerships, and requires the Analyst to report directly to the Principal II of EU Partnerships. The primary responsibility of the Analyst is to assist in the financial management of the European Western Balkans Joint Fund (EWBJF), which is a multi-donor fund that serves as a key source of grant financing under the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF). The WBIF is a collaborative initiative involving the EU, financial institutions, and bilateral donors aimed at coordinating and financing priority investments for the socio-economic development of the Western Balkans region. The Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that financial resources are managed effectively and transparently, contributing to the overall success of the fund and its projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: supporting the day-to-day financial management of the EWBJF, forecasting disbursement needs, processing payments, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Analyst will act as the gatekeeper for all financial data related to the EWBJF, ensuring consistency across all reporting products. This includes providing analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis in accordance with EWBJF rules, developing financial monitoring tools, and maintaining project-level financial data. The Analyst will also monitor the implementation of the EBRD’s WBIF and EU Western Balkans portfolio, prepare materials for portfolio reviews, and track disbursement of EU funds. Additionally, the Analyst will facilitate document requests during audits and develop a network of contacts with key stakeholders in Brussels and EU Delegations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, data science, international relations, international development, or business administration. A professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA is desirable. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, including experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools. Strong quantitative and analytical skills are required, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Candidates should also have relevant financial management experience from an international financial institution or auditing/financial consulting firm, and a strong interest in EU institutions and donor-funded development programs.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as finance, economics, accounting, data science, international relations, international development, or business administration. Additional professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are considered advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant financial management experience, ideally gained from working in an international financial institution, other international organizations, or auditing/financial consulting firms that operate to international standards. Practical experience in designing and maintaining financial monitoring and reporting tools is also essential for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Additional languages are desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile, particularly in the context of working with diverse stakeholders across the Western Balkans and EU institutions.

This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
